OVER THE EDGE by Brandilyn Collins

Wow, what a book!  The second book I had to stay up and read late this week because I just couldn’t put it down.

This book is a novel that deals with Lyme Disease. The author, herself, has experienced the terror of the disease.

In the book,  Dr. Brock McNeil has spent years doing research on Lyme Disease. He is a researcher and professor at Stanford University.  In his research, he has determined that the disease should be healed in a short period of time with antibiotics. He believes it in not a chronic illness and he has even testified before insurance companies that long term antibiotics are not required and his research information has been published in medical journals.  This  caused insurance companies to quit paying for long care.  But there a lots of patients and their families that know that this is not true.

One such person saw his wife die because of lack of treatment and is determined to get back at Dr. McNeil.  So he infects Dr. McNeil’s wife, Janessa, with Lyme, determined this will cause  Dr. McNeil to reverse his stand on the length of time for the disease.  But Dr. McNeil denies she even has the disease ,even though, his wife is unable to function without horrible pain and weakness. He thinks she is faking it.  What an idiot!!

I would love to thank H& B Publishing Company for giving me a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. Like I said earlier, I could not put it down until I was finished reading it.  A great read!  It is too be released May 2011.
