This is Lisa Harris’s second book in her Mission Hope Series.  Blood Ransom was her first but it is not necessary to read  it before reading Blood Covenant.

Dr. Paige Ryan is a  young doctor that works with Volunteers of Hope and she went to the Republic of Dhamvizao in Africa to make a difference.  But she had no idea what she had signed up for. Fighting erupts between the government and the Ghost Soldiers and thousands of people are forced to leave their homes. There is an outbreak of cholera, measles with lots of deaths, constant fear of the Ghost Soldiers who are stealing their food and medical supplies.  It doesn’t seem like things could get much worse and then she is kidnapped by a Ghost Soldiers so she can care for his sick daughter.

I would like to thank Zondervan for giving me a complementary copy of this book to read and give an honest review.  I think the book was well researched and well written but it is not the type of book I, personally,  really enjoy.
